The Scottish Schools and Clubs Teams Championship events are running at St Thomas of Aquin's School, Edinburgh on the 6th and 7th of March.
We are seeking referees for the event, we will pay travelling expenses and provide lunch/snacks and tea/coffee for those who stay all day. If you can only give up a morning or afternoon to help make this event a success and enjoyable experience for the entrants, we will provide snacks and tea/coffee. We also aim to show our appreciation to volunteers referees by providing a bottle of wine, or an entry discount to a Scottish Fencing run competition for those over 18. For those under 18 we will provide an entry discount or a cash payment.
We do hope you will be able to give up some of your time to help Scottish Fencing and to provide a high standard of referee for our young fencers, as someone involved in fencing we are sure you realise the difference a good referee can make to a fencers confidence.
There may be other people that you feel would also be able to help in this capacity, or another - we are always seeking to find new volunteers, if so please feel free to extend this invitation to them.
Below are some information documents about the volunteer roles that are available, these detail the time commitment and what Scottish Fencing can offer to volunteers in these roles.
We hope that you will give some of your time over the weekend to help and if so please email competitions@scottish-fencing.com to detail when you are able to help.
Check in closes: 9.15am both days we aim to start fencing by 9.45am.
